UP NEET Counselling FAQs

Ques. Who conducts UP NEET counselling?

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, conducts it for the 85 percent state quota seats.

Ques. Do I need to register separately from NEET?

Yes. Your NEET registration does not carry over. You must register on the UP counselling portal within its own window.

Ques. Can a candidate from another state take part?

The state quota needs a Uttar Pradesh domicile certificate. Candidates from other states take part in the all India quota counselling run by MCC instead.

Ques. Is the security deposit refunded?

It is refundable if you follow the rules of the round. Leaving a seat outside the allowed window usually means losing it.

Ques. How many rounds are there?

Usually two main rounds, followed by a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round for the seats still left.

Ques. Can I take part in both MCC and UP counselling?

Yes, many candidates do. Read the rules of both carefully, because accepting a seat in one can affect what you may do in the other.

Ques. What happens if I do not report after allotment?

The seat is cancelled and goes back into the pool for the next round, and the deposit is usually forfeited.
