UP NEET counselling starts after the NEET UG result and usually runs alongside the MCC rounds. The schedule below shows the usual order. Official dates are published on the DGME counselling portal each year.
| Event | Usual period |
|---|---|
| Notification and brochure | After the NEET UG result |
| Round 1 registration and deposit | Within a week of the notification |
| Round 1 choice filling and locking | Immediately after registration closes |
| Round 1 seat allotment | A few days after locking |
| Round 1 reporting at the college | About a week from the allotment |
| Round 2 registration and choice filling | After round 1 reporting ends |
| Round 2 allotment and reporting | Following the same pattern as round 1 |
| Mop-up round | After round 2 vacancies are published |
| Stray vacancy round | Last, as per the state schedule |
Each round has its own short reporting window, often only four to five days. Miss it and the seat goes back into the pool, with no appeal.
